Character Appearance: Captain Mouseman is a mouse-sized mouse, outfitted in a ship-captain's uniform. His sea-weathered brow is laden with an equally weathered white captain's hat.

Character Biography: Captain Mouseman, a gritty cartoon about a Mouse lost at sea, ran for two seasons from 1980 to 1981 across twelve episodes. It followed the story of Mouseman as he battled both the perils of the open ocean and the turmoil of his crew, dealing with hunger and desperation, love and sacrifice, and coming to terms with his mortality. The series finale “Goodbye Mouseman”, which closed with a memorable shot of Mouseman drifting out to sea on a piece of wood, was seen by 17 million people.

The resonance of Captain Mouseman with the population of Britain at the time, and its subsequent injection into the nation's collective conscience, led to the creation of numerous other productions, including the sequel series “All at Sea”, three box-office hits, and the spin-off children's cartoon series, “The Adventures of Captain Mouseman”.

Captain Mouseman was added to the cast of The Show in its third season following an acquisition by its parent company—a move which was celebrated by fans of Captain Mouseman (also known as 'Mousemen') around the world.
